Blessed are you…Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. (Matthew 5: 1-12)
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. (Mark 13: 24-32)
Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice. (John 18: 33-37)
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
1 Jesus wants … that your spirit be cleansed and purified as he wishes. 2 Temptations are like soap which when spread on laundry seems to soil but in reality cleanses it 3 It is well for you to pray continually to Jesus. 4 You must by no means fear that the Lord will leave you at Satan’s mercy. 5 He is faithful and He never allows you to be tempted beyond your strength. 6 Be strong and cheerful in spirit, for the Lord is in the depths of your heart. 7 (The Lord) will fight along with you and for you.
8 Hold resolutely to the comforting thought that God is with all the time and will never abandon you to Satan’s attacks. 9 Our merciful Lord, in spite of all your unworthiness, has adorned you with the gift of His holy love. 10 (For the gift of his holy love, the gift of charity), give glory to the most tender heavenly Father. 11 The human spirit without the flame of divine love tends to reach the level of the beast. 12 Charity, the love of God, raises (the human spirit) so high that it can reach even to the throne of God. 13 Give thanks without ever growing weary for the liberality of such a good Father… 14 Ask (the Father) to increase holy charity more and more in your heart.
15 One can promote God’s glory and work for the salvation of means by means of a truly Christian life… 16 Offer yourself continually to the Lord… 17 Pray especially for the supreme Pontiff, for all the spiritual and temporal needs of holy Church, our most tender mother. 18 (Pray) also for all those who are working for the salvation of souls and for God’s glory in the mission to many infidels and unbelievers 19 Your fear of offending God is the surest proof that you are not offending Him. 20 Place your unlimited trust in the divine goodness…abandon yourself trustfully on the…heavenly Spouse. 21 God is faithful and He will not let you be tempted beyond your strength
22 You may fear…but it must be that holy fear, I mean to say the fear that is never separated from love. 23 When fear and love are united, they help each other…to remain on their feet and to walk securely in the Lord’s paths. 24 Love makes us hasten with rapid strides… fear…makes us watch prudently where we place our feet and guides us… 25 For a soul that is seeking God in all things…the storms of life are a most evident sign…of God’s loving providence… 26 (Evil) will one day… have to…admit once more that (it) is powerless against the soul that possesses and is possessed by God. 27 You need to be watchful at every moment, to put up a strong defense, with the eyes of faith always fixed on the God of hosts fighting for you 28 Give Him your total assent so that He may act in the manner most pleasing to Him.
29 Let us pray to our merciful Jesus to come to the aid of His Church for her needs have become extreme. 30 Address all your thanks to the heavenly Father. From Padre Pio’s letters to his Spiritual Daughter, Raffaelina Cerase: April 11 and 25, 1914

November, dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory, is a time for us to intensify our prayers for those souls living in God’s mercy awaiting their admission to the fullness of eternal life. Let us remember that they were where we are, and we will be where they are (by God’s grace and mercy). Our beloved Padre Pio had an extraordinary devotion to the Holy Souls. Let us follow his example and pray for those who can no longer pray for themselves, but who can and will pray for us.

Month of the Holy Souls in Purgatory

Sunday … God of mercy and compassion, we believe that those who have died in the Lord are blessed. As we pray for the souls of those who have gone before us, we earnestly ask You, let them rest from their labors here on earth, and remember the good works they accomplished through Your grace. With each kindness we offer today, help us recall that we too will be judged according to our good deeds, and the love we have for one another. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen…

O Mary, Mother and Queen of the Suffering Souls in Purgatory, pray for them and place our prayers together with yours, that through your almighty intercession, we too may assist them in their suffering.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.
May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Monday … Lord our God, the Psalmist prayed in wonder and gratitude to You when he prayed: “You have been a home for us, from one generation to the next“. Hear us today as we pray for our loved ones who have died, and have always found a shelter in You. Be gracious to them still, as they await the fullness of Your promise - “home“, in the Kingdom where You live forever and ever. Amen.
O Mary … Eternal rest … May the souls…

Tuesday … Lord Jesus, our Good Shepherd, the souls of the just want for nothing in Your presence. It is You who have given them their heart’s desire, You who have guided them on Your pathways, and led them to Your eternal place of refreshment. As you have prepared a banquet for them, so now fill them with Your mercy and peace. May goodness and kindness follow them to Your dwelling place forever and ever. Amen.
O Mary … Eternal rest … May the souls…

Wednesday … Good and Gracious God, today as we pray for the souls of the faithful departed, we remember the comforting words of Jesus: “ Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world“. As You, Lord, so greatly desire the hearts and souls of the created in Your image and likeness, please now call them to Yourself, and welcome them into Your Kingdom, as they welcomed You here on earth in the poor, the naked, the hungry, the thirsty and the imprisoned. We make our prayer in the name of Christ our lord. Amen.
O Mary … Eternal rest … May the souls…

Thursday … O Lord God, our hope and our consolation, look favorably on the souls of our deceased loved ones. As we pray today for them, and all the faithful departed, we ask that You grant the fullness of Your peace and joy to our beloved deceased who have finished the race and have kept the faith. May You give them the heavenly crown of victory, for they longed to see Your face. And one day may we all share their joy together in the Kingdom where You live forever and ever. Amen.
O Mary … Eternal rest … May the souls…

Friday … Most high, all powerful, all good God, Your humble servant, St. Francis of Assisi, when considering his own death, spoke of her as “Sister Death, from whom no one can escape“. In faith we believe that no one would wish to escape the good things that you have prepared for those who have loved You! So today we pray that, in your time, Sister Death may embrace us and the souls of our loved ones whom You have called, and lead us all to that new creation where you live forever and ever. Amen.
O Mary … Eternal rest … May the souls…

Saturday … All loving God, we praise You today for Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in Him You have borne our griefs and sorrows; and by His wounds we are healed! As we seek to share in the joys of His resurrection, and wait to welcome Him when He returns in glory, we ask You to reward those who have died with the fulfillment of Your promise. Gather us together from the four winds into Your Kingdom which You have prepared for us, where we shall live with You forever. Amen.
O Mary … Eternal rest … May the souls…

Daily Prayers

Holy Padre Pio, you reminded us that Purgatory is the place of God’s Love, Mercy and Providence even after death. God will never be outdone in providing all the means necessary to bring us to Himself. Pray that we may always remember that heaven is ours for the taking. The Eucharist was your life, and Our Heavenly Mother was your advocate, pray for us that the blood of Jesus that washes us from sin may help us to live holy lives and die in God’s grace. United with the Holy Souls in our prayers for them, intercede for us as we, members of the Communion of Saints on earth, may journey safely to our true home in heaven. Padre Pio pray for us and all the holy souls who still await their entrance into heaven.

Mary, loving Mother and Queen of Creation, we pray through your intercession for our brothers and sisters, your children, who are saved in the blood of Christ, your Son, but still await in Purgatory the fullness of the gift that is assured them. You were chosen from among all women, daughter of Zion and Woman of Faith to be the Mother of the Savior. You knew our pain and grief through the death of your Son. Look on us, o merciful Mother, with your eyes of motherly compassion and love, and upon all the souls who have gone before us to eternity. Pray for us and them. Protect us in our journey, and intercede for us that we may always be faithful. Pray for the Holy Suffering Souls in Purgatory that the Lord may lead them quickly home to enjoy forever eternal life with Jesus, the blessed fruit of your womb.

Eternal Father, Son and Holy Spirit, through the intercession of Mary, Your daughter, mother and spouse, and our holy Mother, and through the prayers and intercession of our Father and Founder Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, hear our prayers for the Souls in Purgatory. Grant them eternal light, happiness and peace in that kingdom promised all your faithful children, where You live and reign forever and ever. Amen

Glory to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever. Amen.
