Pardon of Assisi / Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The following are taken from Padre Pio’s letters to Margherita Tresca, all written in 1918 on the following dates: May 17, July 4, July 9, July 21, August 13		1 May divine mercy…give you complete victory over the enemy whom you should not fear, because God is faithful…	2 God is faithful and will not permit you to be oppressed and lost.	3 I am moved to ask the Lord…to give you redoubled strength and endurance, with sweet resignation to his most holy will.	4 The storm that rages around your soul, and greatly upsets you, is a sure sign of this (God’s) love.	5 …when you work in the service of the God, prepare your soul for temptation…(PadrePio quotes Sirach 2:1
6 The crown is to be found in the struggle…Let this thought console you…	7 …let the example of our divine Master also encourage you.	8 In point of fact, when the soul grieves and fears to offend God, it doesn’t offend him and is very far from doing so	9 You are one of the chosen ones who are tried like gold in the furnace.	10 Remember…Mary at the foot of the cross…she was never loved more than at the moment when she suffered and couldn’t even cry.	11 Do not fear because God will not abandon you…He is within you and you are in him.	12 Don’t even ask where the Lord is, because he is within you, and in him and in his arms, no misfortune of any kind can befall us.
13 Rejoice and thank the divine mercy that you are not what you might have been (without God’s mercy and love)	14 You are predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son (Padre Pio quotes Romans 8:29)	15 May Jesus continue to possess you totally and to consider you his chosen one!	16 Crucified Love…wants you to be associated with his most bitter sufferings…	17 Make up (in yourself) that which is still wanting in the Passion of Jesus Christ.(Padre Pio quotes Colossians 1:24)	18 God is within you, with you, in your weeping and your seeking	19 (God is) like a mother who urges her little son to look for her, while she is behind him and with her hands is vainly trying to make him come to her.
20 Don’t worry or be frightened, for He brings to life. (Padre Pio refers to 1 Samuel 2:6)	21 I can only advise you to imitate Isaac in Abraham’s hands, and with both of them to hope against hope. (Padre Pio refers to Romans 4:18)	22 (Satan) is powerless over those who are sustained…by the vigilant grace of the heavenly Father.	23 Let yourself be carried, borne away…like Jonah, you will find the God who will save you.	24 May Jesus continue to be the King of your heart!	25 Be quite resigned and if possible at peace when you receive the assurance of authority (God’s Word and the teaching of the Church)	26 Let the thought that you are not alone…but rather in good company (Jesus’ presence), be of comfort to you.
27 Fear of the past is futile, because the goodness of the Lord canceled and forgot your sins.	28 Futile is your anxiety for the future…Live resigned to the divine will.	29 God has not abandoned you, nor will he abandon you.	30 God (approaches) the soul instilling it with waves of life…in order to sustain (it).	31 Do not be afraid!

Pardon of Assisi / Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Prayer (Act of Faith)

O my God, I firmly believe that You are one God in three Divine Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe in Jesus Christ, Your Son, who became a man and died for our sins, and who will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because you have revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.

Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, pray for me. Pray that my faith not falter. Pray that I believe with the strength of faith that supported you when others would not believe in the working of the Spirit in your life. Pray that I may always believe, especially when in those moments when I would question. Help me to say always, with Mary Our Mother, YES to all God asks.

Prayer (Act of Hope)

O my God, trusting in our infinite goodness and promises manifested through Your inspired Word, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins (through Your divine mercy and compassion), and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, pray for me. Pray that I never lose hope. In the trials and tribulations of life, pray that I trust in providence and await the Lord’s saving help. Pray for me that I have the strength to bear my crosses as you bore yours, with my heart set on the crown awarded those who persevere trusting in the Lord’s never-failing assistance.

Prayer (Act of Love)

O my God, I love You above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because You are all-good and worthy of my love. I love my neighbor as myself for love of You. I forgive all who have injured me, and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured.
Amen.

Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, pray for me.
Pray that I learn to see in my sisters and brothers the face of Jesus, and that I may look at them with the eyes of my heart.
Pray that God’s love for me may be the measure I use in responding to those with whom I share life’s journey. Help me to love others, as you loved all people, even those who persecuted you.
Praise God for His Goodness in Mary’s Words My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.
He has regarded the lowliness of his handmaid; for, behold, from now on all generations shall call me blessed; Because He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name; And his mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear him.
He has shown might with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and has exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away. He has given his help to Israel, his servant, mindful of his mercy.
Even as he spoke to our ancestors To Abraham and his descendants forever.
Glory to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Praise in Honor of Mary Queen of All Creation

(Prayer honoring the Queenship of Mary in the month of her Assumption into Heaven)

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy; hail our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious Advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us.
And after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, JESUS. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God; That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Closing Prayer

Father in heaven, You have made us for yourself; Our hearts are restless until they rest in you.
In Padre Pio of Pietrelcina You have given us a renewed image of Your Crucified Son, to inflame the hearts of a world grown cold to Your everlasting love.
Fulfill our longing through Jesus, for a world that hungers for peace and justice, for a world that longs for love.
Padre Pio celebrated the great mystery of Your love and became one with the Eucharistic Bread of Life, Jesus, Whose Body and Blood we offer and become when we are consumed as we consume.
Grant that we may witness to Jesus, as Padre Pio of Pietrelcina did and be moved, as he was moved, to relieve the suffering of others.
Jesus alone can satisfy the hungers of the human family.
By the power of Your Holy Spirit, and through the intercession of Padre Pio, lead us to You, that we may one day share the fullness of life.
You are God, living and reigning with the Son, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
